Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026 (email added)
MeetCard (the app and this website) is operated by Ace Credutech Pvt Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
What we collect
- Account and purchase details: your name, email, mobile number (optional), the plan you bought, and payment records from Razorpay (such as payment id, method and status). We never see or store your full card number or UPI PIN.
- Business cards and images you scan: photos of cards, and screenshots or images you pick or share to MeetCard, are sent to an AI service (Google Gemini) to read the names, numbers and other details on them. The card image and the details read from it are saved with that contact in your account.
- Contacts you save: the details of the people on the cards you scan or add (name, phone, email, company, address, notes). See "People on your cards" below.
- Notes and voice notes: notes you add to a contact. A voice note you record is sent to an AI service (Groq) to be turned into text and is then deleted; we don't keep the recording. The text is saved in that contact's notes, where you can edit or remove it.
- Recorded conversations (optional): if you choose to record a conversation with a contact, the recording is turned into text (Groq) and summarised (Google Gemini) into a few lines: what they do, what they need, how you can help and the next step. Only that summary is saved, in the contact's notes. The recording and the full text are deleted. Please tell the other person before you record.
- WhatsApp, if you link it: to send messages from your own number, including scheduled ones while the app is closed, we keep an encrypted login for the linked device on our servers, and we store the messages you send through the app with their status (sent or failed). We don't read or keep your other WhatsApp chats.
- Email, if you connect it: to send emails from your own address, including scheduled ones while the app is closed. With Gmail, Google gives MeetCard send-only access: we can send email for you but cannot read your inbox; we keep an encrypted access token and the address it belongs to. With any other mailbox (SMTP), we keep your mail server details and your password, encrypted, and use them only to send. We store the emails you send through the app (recipient, subject, text, status). You can disconnect at any time in the app (Settings → Email), which deletes the stored login and cancels emails not yet sent; for Gmail you can also remove MeetCard in your Google account.
- Your own profile: the visiting card, signature and business details you enter.
- Crash reports and app usage: if the app crashes, a crash report (device model, Android or iOS version, app version and the technical error) is sent to Firebase Crashlytics. We also count how features are used (for example "a scan finished" or "a card was saved") with Firebase Analytics. These reports never include the names, numbers, emails, notes or card contents of your contacts.
Phone permissions
The app asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it, and works without the ones you refuse (that feature just won't be available). You can change them any time in your phone's Settings.
- Camera: to scan business cards and QR codes. Photos are taken only when you tap to scan.
- Photos: to pick card photos or screenshots. The app gets only the images you choose, through your phone's own picker; it does not read your gallery.
- Microphone: only while you record a voice note or a conversation, after you tap the record button.
- Contacts: to save a card to your phone's contacts when you choose to, and to show which cards are already saved there. This check happens on your phone; your address book is never uploaded to us.
- Notifications: to remind you of follow-ups you set.
- Fingerprint / Face unlock (optional): to log in without typing your password. Your phone checks it; we never receive your fingerprint or face data.
People on your cards
When you scan or add someone's card, you decide to keep their business contact details in MeetCard, and we store and process them on your behalf to provide the service. Please keep only contacts you have a genuine business reason to keep, and follow the law when you contact them. If someone whose details are in MeetCard asks us, we will help them reach the account holder or remove their details where the law requires it.
How we use it
Only to provide the service: creating your account, activating your plan, scanning and organising cards, AI notes and messages, sending messages you ask us to send, reminders, emails about your account and plan, keeping the app working (crash reports), improving features (usage counts), and support. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Razorpay: to process payments.
- Google (Gemini): to read text from card photos and screenshots, to summarise recorded conversations, and to write AI follow-up messages from a contact's details and your notes.
- Google (Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics): crash reports and feature usage counts, as described above.
- Groq: to turn voice notes and recorded conversations into text. The recording is not kept.
- Google (Gmail) or your own email provider: only if you connect your email; your emails are sent through them from your own account.
- Meta (WhatsApp): only if you link your WhatsApp and send messages; they go through WhatsApp from your own account.
- Our hosting and email providers, to store data securely and send account emails.
- Government authorities, only when the law requires it.
These providers may process data on servers outside India. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
MeetCard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Gmail access only to send the emails you ask MeetCard to send, never to read your mailbox, show ads or train AI models, and we don't let people read it except with your permission, for security, or where the law requires.
Retention and deletion
- We keep your data while your account exists.
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, cards, notes, profile and linked WhatsApp login. You can also ask by emailing support@thecontrast.in from your account email.
- Payment and invoice records may be kept longer where tax or other laws require it.
- You can unlink WhatsApp at any time in the app (WhatsApp tab, Disconnect); this deletes the stored login and cancels messages not yet sent.
- Crash reports and usage counts are kept by Firebase for a limited time under Google's own retention rules.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct or update it, delete it, or withdraw consent you gave (for example by turning off a permission or unlinking WhatsApp). Most of this you can do yourself in the app. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity. Write to us at support@thecontrast.in; we reply within 2 business days and resolve requests within 30 days.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text, and the WhatsApp login, Gmail access token and email (SMTP) password are stored encrypted. Access to our servers is limited to people who need it to run the service.
Children
MeetCard is a business tool for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and for important changes we will tell you in the app or by email.
